Quechee Gorge is just to the west of the Quality Inn. It was formed by the Ottaquechee River and is 165 feet deep. The bridge offers views into the gorge and there are hiking trails down into the gorge.

Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is just beyond the Gorge and features exhibits, nature trails, live bird programs raptors, avian rehabilitation and a store. Visit their web site at www.vinsweb.org.

Simon Pearce Glass & Pottery has two locations, one in Quechee village (turn right at the blinking light beyond the Gorge) and another in Windsor. At the Quechee site, you can watch glassblowing and pottery-making, shop in their store and eat in their restaurant. Their web site is www.simonpearce.com.

Local Covered Bridges include one in Quechee village, twin bridges in North Hartland, one in Hartland, one in Taftsville and two in Woodstock. The one between Cornish, NH and Windsor, VT is the longest in the US.
